Abstract: The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to quantitative reasoning that is the foundation for topics such as equations, regression analysis and geometry.

Audience: College students and high school students

Chapter 1 begins with a discussion of reasoning and set theory. This is followed by basic equations, coefficients and exponents, graphing and the quadratic equation.

Chapter 2 covers linear equations and inequalities, logarithms, and factoring.

Chapter 3 covers simple and multiple regression.

Chapter 4 covers probability – simple and theoretical plus probability distributions such as binomial and normal.

Chapter 5 discusses geometry beginning with points, lines and planes, polygons, triangles, surface areas and volume.
