Abstract: The purpose of this course is to give the student an overall view of composition from basic sentence structure to critical thinking.
Chapter 1 gives a basic understanding of sentence structure and punctuation rules.
Chapter 2 demonstrates how to create coherent text using tools such as repetition, logical agreement, and transitions.
Chapter 3 reviews the creation of body paragraphs including main ideas, topic sentences, evidence, and conclusions.
Chapter 4 identifies and uses multiple sources for research including books, journal articles and more.
Chapter 5 employs critical thinking to a range of tasks including reading and writing.
